Merlewood offers comfortable, spacious accommodation within a beautiful Victorian house set in 23 acres of landscaped grounds in Virginia Water, Surrey.
Our 54 light and spacious bedrooms are all ensuite, providing residents with their own private space and the reassurance of personalised care and support available 24 hours a day. Whether joining us permanently or for a short stay, every resident is encouraged to make their room feel like home with their own photographs, furnishings and treasured possessions.
Throughout Merlewood, residents can choose from a variety of welcoming shared spaces to relax, spend time with family and friends or enjoy the company of fellow residents.
Outside, our beautifully landscaped gardens offer plenty of peaceful places to sit, relax and enjoy the surroundings. When the weather is less inviting, our conservatory provides a comfortable place to enjoy views across the terrace and gardens throughout the year.
Spaces to enjoy at Merlewood
Dining Rooms
Our modern, open-plan dining room is at the heart of life at Merlewood, providing a welcoming space where residents can enjoy meals together. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the gardens, while the well-stocked bar provides a relaxed setting for drinks and social occasions.
Residents enjoy restaurant-style dining, with meals ordered at the table from a varied menu offering plenty of choice. Our chefs prepare fresh, appetising dishes using seasonal ingredients wherever possible, and menus can be adapted to accommodate individual dietary requirements and preferences.
Reception
Our spacious reception area provides a warm welcome to Merlewood. Located in the newer part of the home at our main entrance, it offers plenty of comfortable seating where residents can relax or spend time with visiting family and friends.
Coffee and other refreshments are available for visitors, and our friendly reception team is always on hand to welcome guests and help with any questions.
Library
Located within the original Victorian house, our well-stocked library is an elegant and peaceful space with high ceilings and lovely views across the rear gardens.
Residents can browse our selection of books, enjoy some quiet reading or simply relax in the comfortable surroundings.
Drawing Room
Next to the library, our elegant drawing room provides another comfortable space for residents to relax, socialise or spend time with visitors.
With its piano and beautiful original features, including decorative coving and an ornate fireplace, the room retains much of Merlewood’s Victorian character while offering a warm and welcoming place to enjoy the company of others.
Physiotherapy Studio
Our dedicated physiotherapy studio provides a comfortable, well-equipped space where residents can receive support with rehabilitation, mobility and maintaining their independence and overall wellbeing.
Hair Salon
Our fully equipped hair salon is conveniently located close to reception, providing residents with a comfortable and welcoming space to enjoy regular hair appointments without having to leave the home.
Bedrooms
Our 54 spacious bedrooms provide residents with a comfortable and private space to make their own. Every room has fully equipped ensuite facilities and is wheelchair accessible, with residents encouraged to personalise their room with favourite furnishings, photographs and treasured possessions.
Many bedrooms also have direct access to our attractive Courtyard Garden, with outdoor seating and a water feature providing a peaceful space to relax and enjoy some fresh air.
