Clinical Care Manager – Full-time 40 hours per week

£54,737 plus excellent benefits (including training and career development opportunities, staff welfare and support and heritage working environment)

As the Clinical Lead for the home, you will ensure that our team of Registered Nurses and Care Assistants continue to deliver the exceptional care that we are renowned for. An RGN with an empathy for older people, you will be someone who wants a role with real responsibility with a quality care home company and can engage, motive and lead your team to meet the high standards expected.

Primary duties will include but are not limited to:

 Ensuring that the Home has a happy atmosphere by exercising professional leadership and co-ordinating the work of all grades of staff while creating a climate of well being, security and efficiency.
 Offering full support to our residents, enabling them to live as full and active a life as their physical and mental capacity will allow. To build up and maintain their self-confidence and encourage physical, intellectual and social activities both inside and outside the Home.
 Working within the NMC’s Code of Professional Conduct and Scope of Professional Practice and to ensure that Registered Nurses (RN’s) do the same.
 Ensuring that all Care Staff comply with the Codes of Practice issued by the General Social Care Council.
 Monitoring standards of care by ensuring effective audit, supervision and communication take place.
 Where appropriate, communicate effectively with residents’ relatives, keeping them informed of any changes in the residents’ condition.
 Be responsible for the safe custody of drugs, their administration and disposal in accordance with the NMC’s statement on the administration of medicines, including the audit thereof.
 Liaising with the residents’ General Practitioner and other agencies involved with resident care.
 Organising the admission, discharge or transfer of residents and ensure that attention is paid to the safe custody of residents’ property.
 Monitoring the induction process for all new staff and to maintain in service training for all staff particularly in relation to SOVA, infection control, health and safety, COSHH, moving and handling and fire regulations.
 Establishing and monitoring duty rotas and annual leave for the Home, within the constraints of the budget, to ensure optimum use of nursing and care staff at all times.
 Keeping staff advised of changes and meet regularly to discuss matters relating to residents needs and the running of the Home, (e.g. handover and staff meetings).
 Participating in the interviewing and selection of staff.
 Ensuring that all policies and standards are made accessible to staff and are reviewed and monitored on a regular basis.
 Assisting the General Manager in assessing the needs of prospective residents and liaise with the appropriate other professionals and relatives.

To ensure that your practice and that of others meets with the requirements of the Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (SOVA) regulations. Reporting any concerns to the person in charge. Undertaking training and revision exercises as directed.
