General Manager – 12 Month Contract

Salary: £65000 per year

The Role

  • Temporary – 12 months FTC
  • Application deadline – 4pm on the 3rd July
  • To take accountability and support the day to day running of the home. Promoting a caring and thriving environment which provides residents with a high standard of specialised personal and or nursing care, meeting individual needs and ensuring everyone is treated with respect, dignity and rights to privacy. Ensuring independence and choice are met. Maintaining and improving the legal and statutory requirements and ensuring the organisations’ values are achieved.
  • Lead and develop a team of valued care staff with fairness, transparency and inclusive approach ensuring that the home is a friendly supportive working environment.
  • Contribute to and ensure delivery against operational KPIs to evidence effective operational management and drive improving performance
  • Work with the Head of Operations to translate strategy into clear objectives managed through effective business and performance reviews.

Care Quality

  • Ensure regulatory compliance is achieved for the home. Continually measure resident experience and compliance through audit and data analysis.
  • Work collaboratively with the Clinical Leadership Team to meet compliance on all regulatory and mandated matters including Care Quality Commission (CQC), safeguarding, mental capacity, data protection, health and safety, employment legislation (including discrimination) and other regulations as introduced.

People

  • Direct line management of Heads of Department, with recruitment, development, performance management, and support of wellbeing and absences.
  • Create high performing employees by motivating and inspiring through enthusiasm and direction, challenge and an open collaborative style.
  • Drive a culture of internal succession across the home and ensure we develop and optimise people capability.
    Collaborate with HR team to deliver“people plans” that improve KPI’s, manage staff costs and ensure delivery on recruitment, induction and engagement.
  • Role model a clear sense of shared purpose and teamwork with support teams to deliver the required results.

The Person

Essential Qualities

  • Ideally this person is an experienced Clinical and inspiring leader with a varying range of clinical and business acumen in a social care environment.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse ( Preferable but not essential) or relevant professional qualification.
  • Relevant management qualification / can demonstrate a substantial background of management experience.

Experience

  • Proven track record (at least 3 years) of delivering to performance targets in a social care leadership role.
  • Proven track record of achieving regulatory standards across the five key quality domains.
  • Proven success of delivering exceptional results through people.

Personal Qualities

  • Experience of leadership within the sector in the last 5 years,

Financial Skills

  • Sound commercial acumen, comfortable with data and demonstrated successful impact on results.
  • Experience with P&L; forecasting and budgeting required.
  • Can manage processes to reduce cost, improve resident experience and engage teams.
  • Shows that they put the resident at the heart of everything they do.
  • Can Influence people, including presenting information in a straightforward and engaging way, communicating clearly and with authority to gain commitment and support.
  • Practical success at effectively resolving issues using sound judgement and decision making.
  • Possess strong leadership skills, can balance leading and engaging
    with managing and coaching. Can motivate and inspire a team with enthusiasm and direction and build a high performing Home.
  • Has a visible and open and engaging leadership style.
  • Demonstrates high personal standards and integrity whilst delivering on quality, delivery and profitability.
  • A strong leader, develops team relationships, gives feedback, confronts issues and effectively resolves conflict.
  • Proven success of managing stakeholders and building positive relationships with support functions.
  • Success of delivering change through others.
  • Effectively builds trust with a consistent approach between actions and words. Demonstrable commitment to personal development.
  • Demonstrates an empathy and commitment to Elizabeth Finn Homes vision, purpose and core values.
