Elizabeth Finn Homes launches inaugural Awards to showcase values in action

Elizabeth Finn Homes held its inaugural employee awards ceremony on 11th September at St Hilda’s College, Oxford, recognising staff for their commitment and embodiment of the organisation’s key values.
Introduced to showcase good practice, the ‘Golden Hearts Awards’ recognise service excellence, celebrating staff and the dedication and hard work that goes into making Elizabeth Finn Homes better places to live and work.
With headquarters in London, Elizabeth Finn Homes operates eight residential homes across the South of England and the Midlands, offering residential, respite and end of life care for those in later life. The homes are located in unique settings with extensive gardens and facilities.
Each home entered a quarterly winner, all of whom were then entered into the final awards. The three overall winners were judged on their actions, practices and dedication in relation to the organisational values of Bring Love, Welcome All, Inspire More, Act with Purpose.
Kim Arthur, a Carer at Merlewood, won first place and the Gold award. Kim’s dedication to the home and the residents is hard to match, inspiring and leading new colleagues, going above and beyond even when off duty. Lynne Hall, Clinical Training Coordinator at The Cotswold Home received the Silver award and Paulina Hartshorne, Carer at Rashwood, received Bronze.
In addition, the Home of the Year award was won by The Cotswold Home. This award recognises a collective team effort in carrying out the EFH values, overcoming challenges, supporting new colleagues, and consistently upholding high standards of care and culture.

The awards event was attended by over 50 colleagues from across the Elizabeth Finn Homes business, including members of the Senior Management Team and representatives from Head Office. The judging panel was made up of external industry professionals and members of the EFH Board of Directors.
