Meet our general manager Deborah Skinner
Deborah has been General Manager at The Lodge since 2006, having trained as a nurse in Plymouth and achieving a BSc Hons degree in psychology. Under Deborah’s leadership The Lodge attained an ‘Outstanding’ Care Quality Commission rating in March 2020, a reflection of the hard work and dedication of all staff and of the exceptional care provided to residents.
In spite of working in several specialisms including surgery and paediatrics, elder care was to become a lifelong passion for Deborah, as shown by over 20 years in the care home industry.
The role of General Manager is more than just a job for Deborah and she is passionate about the residents and staff, creating a warm community and a welcoming environment.
