Olivia joined Elizabeth Finn Homes in early 2023, bringing significant experience of leadership in the non-profit sector. She was most recently Chief Executive of the Vision Foundation, an award-winning charity which worked to prevent sight loss and promote the inclusion and empowerment of blind and partially sighted people in our society. Prior to this she headed up fundraising and communications at children’s mental health charity Place2Be and autism research charity Autistica. Before joining the charity sector, she was a researcher and lecturer in evolutionary biology.

Outside of her paid roles, Olivia is a Board Member of Care England, a registered charity and the leading representative body for small, medium and large adult social care providers in England. She also sits on the Board of Helen Bamber Foundation, which supports the victims of trafficking and torture through counselling, housing, medical and legal support. Olivia was previously a Board Trustee of Turn2us, Elizabeth Finn Homes’ parent charity, and is passionate about addressing financial insecurity in the UK and bringing the work of Turn2us and Elizabeth Finn closer together.

Jonathan is a qualified accountant and ‘learnt his trade’ working in the financial services sector, largely in insurance. He made the move into the care sector in 2007 spending ten years working with a charity operating five care homes in South London in various Board level roles.

He then worked in the education sector for three years before returning to the care sector. He worked as the Finance Director for a large privately-owned care group operating in the South East. Jonathan joined Elizabeth Finn Homes in 2021 and is the Finance Director with responsibility for Finance, IT, premises and hotel services.

Anna Boyes is an experienced marketing director with a career that has incorporated strategic marketing roles across a variety of sectors including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, food and lifecycle brands. Anna joined Elizabeth Finn Homes late 2023 having worked in senior leadership roles in elderly residential care and housing for ten years.

Anna is a strategic thinker, passionate about understanding and reaching new customers. She has conceptualised, researched, successfully launched and managed products and services. Anna is driven by the opportunities to optimise business effectiveness and efficiency whilst ensuring the best service and support for customers, remaining true to the core vision and values of Elizabeth Finn Homes.

James Hamilton brings nearly 20 years’ experience in the care sector, including multiple Operational, Commercial and Senior Management roles for small, medium and large care providers – from family-owned, to start ups, to established household names. He has worked across nursing, residential, dementia, Learning Disability, Autism, and complex injury, and demonstrated a commitment to person-centred care, the highest possible clinical standards, and the development and support of colleagues at all levels.

James enjoys thinking strategically and relishes turning those plans into action to deliver wonderful care, rewarding places to work for colleagues, and commercially sustainable organisations.

He graduated from Nottingham University with a degree in architecture and has an MBA from the Open University. James has three young children who keep him equally as busy as the care sector!

Peter joined Elizabeth Finn Homes at the end of 2024, having previously been the Director of People and Corporate Services for Terrence Higgins Trust, the UK’s largest HIV and sexual health charity striving for a future where there are no new cases of HIV, and where people living with HIV get the support they need. Prior to this he had held senior managerial roles in mental health with the charity Mind, and cut his teeth as an HR professional in a standalone generalist role for an organisation that helped charities across the UK demonstrate the difference they made.

Peter works to unlock the potential of an organisation’s people by providing strategic direction that is supported by well-defined systems and processes. Through this approach he has successfully developed and implemented a range of organisational programmes including: aligning culture to organisational goals; implementing equity, diversity and inclusion strategies; leadership and career development. In his wider leadership roles, he has led organisational IT and property strategies, and overseen governance and compliance frameworks in highly regulated health and social care environments.

Thomas Lawson has worked in the social sector since the early 90s in international development at UNICEF, HIV at Terrence Higgins Trust and NAM (the charity behind aidsmap.com), criminal justice at Prisoners Abroad and in youth work at the award-winning Leap Confronting Conflict.

Recently he has been challenging the sector to address the barriers to success in the sector for people from Black, Asian and other minoritised ethnic communities. Tom has served on the boards of the charities: Centre for Youth Impact, Heart ‘n Soul and the National Peace Council. Until summer 2023, Tom was non-executive chair of his family’s retail firm, Lawsons, and is the chair for Elizabeth Finn Homes Ltd, which is Turn2us’s wholly owned subsidiary care home business.

Thomas joined Turn2us as Chief Executive in March 2019. He became a member of the Elizabeth Finn Homes board in April 2019, before being appointed as its Chair in August 2021. Thomas is interested in how the social sector can work with, and challenge, state bodies and companies to create an inclusive society in which everyone can thrive. He is passionate about the role that people with lived expertise can play in the future of the leadership of the social sector and in addressing the complex problems we face.

Edwina joined the Board of Trustees for both Turn2us and Elizabeth Finn Homes in December 2020 as Lead Trustee for Safeguarding and Chair of the Audit, Risk and Governance Committee.

Edwina retired from Choice Care in August 2020 where she was CEO from 2009 and prior to that Finance Director from 2002. Choice Care provides residential care and supported living services to adults with learning disabilities and mental health disorders. Prior to Choice, Edwina was Finance Director of a listed import and distribution business, having previously qualified as an ACA with Price Waterhouse.

Edwina is based between Newbury and South Devon and is married with three grown up daughters and one grandson.

Alistair has a broad depth of experience with a particular focus on health social care and joined Elizabeth Finn in September 2022.

The first half of his career was in marketing and business development with organisations including Kodak, ICI and Boots. For the last 25 years he has run care operations in both the specialist and elderly care sectors for organisations such as Bupa, Four Seasons Healthcare, Eden Futures and Akaricare. He is now a professional non-executive director for a number of organisations and continues to be a trusted adviser for care homes.

His non-executive roles are in healthcare and social housing. He is chair of Henshaws, a specialist charity supporting individuals with visual impairments and complex needs. He has been a non-executive director for two housing associations; Your Housing Group, and Johnnie Johnson and now sits on the board of Encircle, a specialist housing association providing solutions for those with mental health, disabilities and homelessness. He is a non-executive director for MoreLife, a healthcare intervention joint venture with Leeds Beckett University and an advisor for Thalamos, a mental health service application for psychiatrists.

He graduated from Southampton University with a degree in Geography. He has an MBA from Warwick University and is also a graduate of the Wharton School – University of Philadelphia.

In his spare time Alistair enjoys the outdoors and is a keen photographer.

Jenny has a broad range of NHS leadership experience having worked in multiple NHS organisations in London, the Southeast, and Yorkshire. In her most recent role Jenny is the Deputy Chief Strategy and Planning Officer at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust where she has leads the Trust’s work around strategy, planning, and specialist mental health provider collaboratives.

The core purpose in each of these roles has been to drive improvements in population health and value. Through this experience Jenny witnessed the significant impact financial hardship has on health and wellbeing on both an individual and community level. Jenny is passionate about involving people and communities in designing the solutions that support people to thrive. In her free time Jenny enjoys cycling, running, and hiking: anything that gets her outdoors and active, but balances this with a love of cooking and baking.

Bringing to the board much hands on experience in social care, Ruth French is owner and Director of Stow Healthcare, a family run group of award winning care homes in East Anglia. Ruth specialises in change management and prior to her career in social care worked as a civil servant in Whitehall, including in the Business Department and Cabinet Office. Ruth is also a non-executive Director of the Outstanding Society, which supports social care providers by sharing best practice. Ruth has contributed to numerous Skills for Care guides to support social care providers.

Julian was most recently Vice Chair, EMEA at Franklin Templeton and has responsibility for relationships with strategic partner accounts. With nearly 30 years’ experience in the investment industry, he is a strong and passionate leader, inspiring a culture of shared ideas and perspectives.

Julian has spent much of his career in a variety of leadership roles. He was CEO at Old Mutual Global Investors and Source ETF (largest independent ETF provider in Europe) and held senior roles at Merrill Lynch Mercury (later Blackrock), and ABN AMRO Asset Management. More recently, he held a dual role as CEO at Martin Currie and Head of Distribution in EMEA at Franklin Templeton.

A Cambridge graduate in Law, Julian has travelled and lived all over the UK, Europe and Asia, and is now settled in the south of England. Julian spends his spare time with his family and is a motor sports enthusiast and is a trustee of the Sir Jules Thorn Trust

As an experienced board member dedicated to the care and housing sectors Liz brings a diverse skill set to the boardroom, including a track record of strategic vision and governance expertise. A chartered surveyor by profession, Liz has held senior roles in the commercial real estate industry and is currently an adviser at a leading youth charity and a property advice charity. Liz is also a trustee of the McCarthy Stone Foundation.
