Successful art exhibition brings creativity to care home
Residents, families and the local community came together to enjoy a very special art exhibition held at Rashwood Care Home, Droitwich.
The exhibition held at the end of February showcased work from a range of talented local artists as well as work created by the Rashwood residents. The main communal areas of the home were transformed into an art gallery with a variety of mediums on display including needle felted topiary trees, Egyptian art as well as handcrafted flowers made by a member of the Nursing team.
The exhibition was organised by Ann Shilton, Social Engagement Co-Ordinator at Rashwood Care Home.
“The inspiration for the event came from my Mum’s own artwork that we didn’t have the opportunity to showcase before she died last year. Being able to share her work was an honour and seeing the residents stop, admire and talk about her art made it even more special.”
The event was met with much enthusiasm and genuine appreciation from residents, families, and staff, stimulating conversation, memories and providing a great opportunity for everyone to get together.
Rashwood is a country house set in six acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, two miles outside Droitwich. It offers over 50 rooms providing both residential and nursing care on a long term or respite basis.
