Our care homes go orange for Turn2us
Residents and staff across all our care homes took part in Challenge Poverty Week in support of our parent charity Turn2us. Adapting the Go Orange theme in so many different ways to raise awareness and funds to help tackle financial hardship across the UK.
Here is a snapshot of what some of our homes got up to, bringing a lot of colour, community spirit, activities and creativity all in a good cause.
Our Cotswold Home put a citrus twist on their annual apple bobbing with their ‘Big Orange Grab’ substituting apples for oranges seeing who could retrieve the most fruit in two minutes!
Meanwhile in Virginia Water, at Merlewood, staff and residents dressed in orange to hold a tabletop sale and hamper raffle, raising over £300 for the cause.
Rush Court embraced the orange spirit with a cosy harvest‑themed afternoon tea, complete with autumn colours, seasonal treats and plenty of smiles. Staff and residents were encouraged to dress in orange and at lunchtime, there was a delicious orange‑inspired menu.
Rashwood also adapted their lunchtime menu to cover an orange theme and residents at Grove Court enjoyed orange drizzle cake and an orange themed quiz.
All in all it was a great opportunity to enjoy different types of activities with lots of laughter and all for a good cause.
