Grove Court finalists in The National Care Awards

Our Grove Court Care Home in Suffolk has been named as a finalist for two awards in the prestigious National Care Awards, the largest care awards recognising excellence in this sector.

Kelly Lockwood has been nominated in the Care Home Manager of the Year category and Grove Court Chef Anthony Patchett is a finalist in the Chef of the Year award.

Taking over the managerial role three years ago, Kelly has transformed and enhanced life at the home, for both residents and staff. Driven by her resolve to tackle loneliness, Kelly was determined to bring the local community through the doors of the home.  Grove Court now boasts a varied and full social calendar with close ties to many local community groups who enjoy the grounds and facilities. It holds an Outstanding rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Anthony has been at the home for over a decade, originally spending many years as an army chef.  He heads up the Catering Team at Grove Court, responsible for providing healthy and nutritious restaurant-style dishes, as well as catering for special events, BBQs, parties and resident’s birthdays.

“We are absolutely delighted to be shortlisted for the awards, putting Grove Court in the spotlight,” comments Kelly. “We are so lucky to have Anthony heading up our catering team, not only is he an exceptional chef, but he takes time out of every day to chat to our residents.  He is an integral part of our managerial team.”

The National Care Awards, now in their 27th year, celebrate outstanding achievements in care homes and home care services across various categories and are organised by Caring Times. The 2025 awards ceremony will be held in London on 7th November.
