Safeguarding at Elizabeth Finn Homes
Safeguarding at Elizabeth Finn Homes is fundamental to how we operate. We are committed to protecting every resident, visitor, volunteer and staff member, and ensuring that everyone is able to live and work free from harm, abuse or neglect.
Our safeguarding practice is fully aligned with regulatory legislation which underpins our Safeguarding Policy, providing clear guidance for recognising, reporting and responding to concerns in a consistent and timely manner.
We maintain strong systems to identify concerns early. Our teams are trained to observe changes in behaviour, mood, health or relationships that may indicate risk. We encourage residents, relatives, staff and visitors to raise concerns promptly and we ensure that any information shared with us is treated seriously, handled sensitively and acted upon without delay.
When a safeguarding concern is raised, we follow a structured process which includes immediate steps to ensure safety, internal review, clear documentation and referral to external agencies where required. We work in close partnership with local authority adult safeguarding teams, health professionals and regulatory bodies to ensure the right action is taken and that people are protected throughout.
Safeguarding oversight is reinforced through our Clinical Governance Committee who, along with our organisational safeguarding lead, regularly review safeguarding activity, monitors trends, support learning and ensure that improvements are implemented. This governance approach strengthens accountability and ensures our safeguarding practice remains robust and up to date.
We believe that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. By maintaining clear procedures, well-trained staff and strong organisational oversight, we ensure that concerns are identified, addressed and learned from, and that the safety of everyone in our homes remains our highest priority.
