Life at Halliwell

Life at Halliwell is about much more than the care we provide. We want residents to continue enjoying the interests, friendships and everyday routines that matter to them, while having opportunities to try new things and be part of a welcoming community.

Residents play an active role in shaping life at the home, from suggesting activities and outings to sharing feedback through regular resident and family meetings. Our team takes the time to understand what people enjoy and creates opportunities for residents to get involved as much, or as little, as they choose.

There is always something happening, with a varied programme of activities, entertainment, visiting groups and trips into the local community. Equally, residents can enjoy quieter moments in our comfortable lounges and gardens, spend time with family and friends, or simply relax in their own way.

Food is an important part of daily life too. Our chefs prepare varied menus using seasonal ingredients, with residents encouraged to share their preferences and enjoy meals together in a relaxed and sociable setting.

Above all, Halliwell is a home. Our team brings companionship, conversation and warmth to everyday life, helping residents feel comfortable, connected and very much part of the community.

Activities at Halliwell

Our social engagement team takes time to get to know each resident, understanding their hobbies, interests and the things they enjoy. This helps us create a varied programme of activities that enables residents to continue favourite pastimes, discover new interests and spend time with others.

There is always plenty to choose from, including regular outings in our minibus, visiting entertainment and a changing calendar of activities designed around residents’ interests and suggestions.

A particular favourite is the long-established Halliwell Wells Choir, which performs publicly and holds much-loved summer and Christmas concerts. Creativity also plays an important part in life at Halliwell, with a dedicated art room where residents can paint and develop new skills, and their artwork proudly displayed throughout the home.

Regular activities include Art Club, Knit & Natter, Keep Fit, reading sessions, afternoon tea, musical rehearsals and concerts, alongside special events throughout the year. We also welcome visiting musicians and entertainers, including cellists, pianists and singers.

Most importantly, taking part is always a choice. Residents can join in as much or as little as they wish, with activities designed to provide enjoyment, companionship and opportunities to keep doing the things that matter to them.
